That can be confusing in fiction sometimes, but you telegraphed what was going on well enough that I understood instantly what was happening. Also, a great twist at the end. Good stuff all 'round.
Why thank you. I was aware it might get confusing so I tried to use details that were distinct to indicate which scene was which, the cats and the tankards were particularly useful. I'm glad to hear that it worked.
